About
As part of our Building Bridges series, join a town-hall discussion with Standing Together, in which a panel of Jewish and Palestinian Israelis take a meaningful look at the way their communities are working together toward peace in Israel. They'll discuss successes, challenges, and opportunities.
Standing Together is a progressive grassroots movement mobilizing Jewish and Palestinian citizens of Israel for peace, equality, and social justice. Built on the belief that the majority of people have far more in common than that which sets them apart, Standing Together is focused on a future of peace and independence for Israelis and Palestinians, full equality for everyone in the land, and true social, economic, and environmental justice.
The panel, moderated by Daniel Bral, will include peace activist Adnan Jaber. Other panelists to be announced.
Daniel Bral is a first-generation Iranian American writer on Israel, the conflict, and coexistence; and works as an antisemitism educator and facilitator for Project Shema. He’s also a civil rights attorney and California Democratic Party Delegate. Daniel’s law review article on Israel’s Nation-State Law was one of three student articles selected for publication. Inspired by his late grandfather, Dr. Moossa Bral, the sole Jewish member of parliament in pre-revolution Iran at the time, Daniel is a devoted Jewish community leader and peace seeker, serving in various capacities for organizations including Israel Policy Forum, J Street, and the Jewish Democratic Council of America. Daniel’s writing can be found in the Los Angeles Times, Haaretz, and other publications
Adnan Jaber is a curious, hopeful human from Jerusalem, currently living in Los Angeles. He is on a mission to bring people together through tech and dialogue. Adnan is a lecturer at UCLA teaching course “Design entrepreneurship for peace and impact”, he is former director and host of the “Beitna” social media channel, which elevates and amplifies the voices of compassionate, kind, and empathetic individuals from Palestine and Israel. Adnan founded the PeaceTech Group, a forum for 20 CEOs in peace-building, tech, and entrepreneurship organizations in Israel and Palestine. He serves as a board member for Tech2Peace, an NGO that brings Palestinians and Israelis to learn tech together through entrepreneurahip and dialogue. Adnan was a curator for a World Economic Forum initiative called Global Shapers East Jerusalem, a network of inspiring young people under the age of 30 working together to address local, regional, and global challenges.
A reception will follow the discussion.
